About Matthew
Matthew Houston is a licensed clinical social worker based in the vibrant city of New York. Matthew is patient-focused and collaborative and specializes in working with adolescents and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, intimacy, life transitions, identity, meaning, and the interpersonal challenges surrounding family and relationships.
Matthew strives to understand his patients empathetically so that they may empathetically know themselves. His practice is rooted in creating a place where patients can identify and connect with their feelings and sensations, develop a greater sense of aliveness, and feel empowered in their daily lives.
Mr. Houston earned his Master's degree at New York University Silver School of Social Work. His undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Central Florida and did postgraduate studies at The New School in General Psychology.
Mr. Houston is a recent graduate of The William Alanson White Institute of Psychiatry, Psychoanalysis & Psychology Intensive Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Program in from 2022-2024. In addition, he has attended training and workshops at the Psychoanalytic Association of New York affiliated with NYU School of Medicine, the Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavior Therapy, the Ackerman Institute for Family Therapy, and Somatic Experiencing Beginning 1 training
